 Danyel Sanders was born and raised in Rutledge, Alabama. In her small farming community, she spent a great deal of her time with her grandfather, Russell Sanders. "Granddaddy was always singing and making up songs. I loved to listen to him and throughout my childhood he continually sparked my musical interest." As a 6th grader at Luverne Elementary School, she began playing the French horn in symphonic band and performing in numerous plays and musicals that were sprinkled throughout high school "As I continued to college, I wanted to find something that would help keep me in touch with my musical side; so I joined the Auburn University Women's Chorus." Being a part of a collegiate group only intrigued Danyel to become involved with something even bigger. "When I heard about Focus and the idea of bringing Jesus to people through music, I just had to jump in and be a part. It has been a wonderful blessing just to sing along for God." Danyel is the group's Sky tenor and has been a part since September 2005. |
